The National University of Samoa will host its second Samoa
Research Conference exclusively on Monday 27th – Tuesday 28th March 2023 for research
professionals from both local and overseas.
Delegates from Victoria University of Wellington and Otago University including selected NUS
staff will have a unique opportunity to present their recent research findings, share research
ideas and best practice while networking with university colleagues and students. It will also
allow all NUS academic professionals and postgraduate students to learn about research across
a range of disciplines and to observe various presentation styles. Simultaneously, it will
encourage professional development in presenting and research supervision.
The conference program is designed in a manner to allow delegates to both explore issues
pertinent to their own area of work and engage with other professionals from different areas of
expertise. Throughout the course of two days, there will be twenty-seven presentations in the
morning and afternoon for the duration of two days. The topics will include: health, employment,
offshore investments, assessments, education, culture, law & politics, science, environment,
climate change, tourism and open distance learning. On Tuesday afternoon, there will be two
practical sessions for professional development with substantial coffee breaks and lunch to allow
participants to greet and mingle.
All sessions will be held in the NUS D201 Lecture Theatre with the registration fee of SAT$50 per
person (but SAT$30 per student), payable at the front door with their student ID cards. The one-
time fee will cover both days of the Samoa Research Conference at the National University of Samoa.
