OUR GOALS

To provide high quality policy advice to the Prime Minister, Cabinet, and CEO
To strengthen the Monitoring and Evaluation of Cabinet's major policies and projects
To strengthen the coordination and promote collaboration between the Central Agencies Committee
To strengthen policy development from a whole of government perspective, and assist with policies within the Ministry

This division was formulated as a separate entity within the MPMC in 2006.

It succeeded the Policy Coordination Unit (PCU) which had been a section of the Corporate Services Division, with identical responsibilities, and was established with greater emphasis on role of the MPMC in strengthening policy coordination.

The division is a mid-sized team of research officers and policy analysts and is managed by the Assistant Chief Executive Officer - PIMD. Their responsibilities include

  • Policy advisory to the Prime Minister and Cabinet
  • Policy development on whole of government level and within the Ministry
  • Monitoring the implementation of Cabinet decisions
  • Co-leading (alongside PSC) the improvement of quality public service delivery (PASP) and Public Sector Integrity and Culture
