“INVESTIGATION OF ALLEGED MISSING GOODS FROM THE APIA INTERNATIONAL PORT”

A total of sixteen (16) security officers with the Samoa
Ports Authority have been suspended pending an investigation of claims of theft from
companies storing containers at the Apia International Port.
The matter has been referred and is currently being investigated by the Ministry of Police and
Prisons in order to identify those involved. Decisions will be based on the outcome of this
investigation.
Due to the above incident, the Authority has implemented new changes to the port entry
requirements since Saturday 19 August 2023. Therefore, we apologize for any inconvenience
these changes may cause and thank you greatly for your understanding and cooperation.
