Afioga Tuimalealiifano Vaaletoa Sualauvi II was sworn in as the Head of State of the Independent State of Samoa on the 21st July, 2017.
Afioga Tuimalealiifano has been the holder of one of Samoa’s four Tama Aiga titles, Tuimalealiifano since 1977.
The Tama Aiga is a lawyer by profession, who has served his country in the Office of the Attorney General, as Public Trustee, in the Ministry of Police, the Justice Department and as a school teacher.

OUR GOAL
To ensure that His Highness the Head of State is able to fully and effectively carry out his constitutional, ceremonial, and community-leadership responsibilities for the State.
The Office of the Head of State is located at Vailele.
The Office is overseen by the Secretary to the Head of State, and currently hosts a small unit of administrative staff as well as casual workers. The team is responsible for
- Ensuring the timely execution of the Head of State's constitutional responsibilities
- Providing efficient, professional, and responsive administrative and secretarial support services to the Head of State
- Maintaining and improving the management of HOS facilities and assets
