Samoa Chamber of Commerce kickstarted its events calendar with its first monthly
members meeting for 2024 held on Monday 18th March 2024 at the Sina Restaurant at the Taumeasina
Island Resort. The meeting was sponsored by Digicel Samoa, an organization that has been prominent

and the business community, to be given an update on the work conducted by the SCCI Executive
Council and Secretariat including policy issues being address to government officials and the sharing
of any upcoming opportunities for the business community.
The Members Meeting was chaired by SCCI President Seulupe Michelle Macdonald. The Secretariat
update to its members was provided by SCCI Chief Executive Officer Lita Lui, focusing on private sector
issues raised over the last month as well as upcoming events and opportunities for the private sector.
The update included information on the upcoming 2024 Commonwealth Heads of Government
Meeting and Samoa’s participation at the Osaka Expo 2025.
The Ministry of Finance was invited to present to members on the Labour Migration Policy as part of
the Chamber policy update. The presentation was delivered by Ms. Venus Tupai, MOF ACEO Labour
Employment Export Program; her presentation included an introduction to the proposed policy, the

the private sector as this will continue to build and strengthen the Public-Private Partnership with our
Government. SCCI also acknowledges Anthony Seuseu and the staff of Digicel Samoa for their amazing
