Charge’ d’Affaires Noriko Horiuchi and the staff of the US Embassy in Samoa took a break from their official
duties to create an early Easter celebration for the children from the Campus of Hope. The event, held at
Charge’ de Affairs Noriko Horiuchi’s residence, was a vibrant affair filled with colors and exciting games for
the children.
According to Charge’ d’Affaires Noriko Horiuchi, “Easter holds special significance for my family, and we
were thrilled to share this joyful activity with the children at the Campus of Hope. The act of giving back to
the community, especially by bringing joy to children who have faced adversity at a young age, warms our
hearts.”
Lukas Jaaksen also addressed the children, emphasizing their significance, affirming their worth, and
assuring them of love and care.
The afternoon continued with more festivities, including Easter egg hunts, karaoke, coloring, and drawing
activities. The children were excited of the opportunity to spend time outside the Campus, an experience
that doesn’t happen every day. The young participants had a delightful time hunting for Easter eggs and
dancing alongside the US Embassy staff.
The Easter Egg Hunt has become a tradition for the Charge’ d’Affaires to the US Embassy over the years,
and has played a vital role in their rehabilitation programs for the abused and abandoned children cared
for at the Campus.
SVSG President Siliniu Lina Chang extended heartfelt thanks to the Charge’ d’Affaires Noriko Horiuchi and
the entire US Embassy team for their unwavering support, particularly for the children. These
opportunities uplift the spirits of the young ones and inspire them to overcome challenges and move
forward.
