The Ministry of Health confirmed 485 new community cases in the last 24 hours. This brings the number of
community cases recorded since 17th March 2022 to 6,731. Of the 6,731 community cases; 6,201 cases are
reported in Upolu, 525 cases in Savaii and 5 cases detected in Manono Tai. There are 16 cases in managed
isolation and 3 critical cases in ICU at the Moto’otua Hospital within the period commencing from 2:00pm
18th April to 2:00pm 19th April, 2022. There are no deaths reported during this period.
Members of the public are reminded to remain vigilant and take heed of public health advice to wear face
masks, keep to the 2 meter social distancing in public places, stay home and isolate if you are feeling unwell
and practice safe personal hygiene at all times. The public is again urged to get vaccinated as vaccination
remains the best defense against COVID-19 pandemic. Keeping our families and loved ones safe is
everyone’s responsibility.
