The Samoa Qualifications Authority (SQA) is in undertaking Stakeholders consultations on the
Draft Samoa Educational Learning Pathways Framework. It started in the big island of Savaii on
Friday, 25 th February 2022 and on Tuesday, 1 st March 2022 for Upolu stakeholders.
The Samoa Educational Learning Pathways is an initiative under SQA’s mandated function to
‘promote links between the school sector and post school education and training (PSET) sector
Framework to support better planning, coherent education programmes and critically support the
learner to navigate the system and understand how their learning relates to future study and
employment opportunities.
The Draft Framework is a result of initial consultations held with stakeholders in September
2021 with the aim of meeting the need of stakeholders and support learners in Samoa, with
emphasis made on smooth transition of learners from school to PSET and further to employment
and continuous education.
The consultations are to capture feedbacks from stakeholders on the Draft Samoa Educational
Learning Pathways Framework for SQA to finalise for approval and implementation; and to
gauge their support and commitment to ensure sound and collaborative implementation of this
new initiative for the Education Sector in Samoa.
